Sunday Sessions...

Morning dawned calm, cold and with a funky swell, a heck of a lot more than the forecasted 3ft @14s, followed by an epic evening sun filled glass off.

Steve (aka the goofy superstar) joined me for both high and low tide sessions. Here he is looking in anticipation for whats coming next.
The sun may have went down but the waves kept on coming
Last orders...

In a week when I felt I had largely missed out on waves today more than made up for it. Two super sessions, the first this morning on the push in funky/choppy waves a lot bigger than expected, (Must’ve been more than just a bit of northerly in the swell!) and again this evening on the drop but really clean, sunny, glassy and one of the better sessions I’ve had in a while. Seems that lately it’s been all about having your finger on the pulse, the onshores forecasted for all last week didn’t show and from the charts today wasn’t worth leaving the house for. Damn glad I did though…

Wrong tide. Right board.

Low tide cut back
Bottom turning
Put your hands up...
Walled up a bit better as the tide pushed
Even went for a bit of fishing to end.

Few wee shots of yours truly from yesterday morning. (Thanks again Rick for the shots!) Wouldn't usually be able to surf this spot much at all on a small swell and low tide but the longboard gave me enough float and momentum to ride the peaks to the inside. Whipped out the fish for a wee lash too just to make sure I don't fall completely head over heels for my longstick...

Low Tide Scraps..

Low tide and really scrappy today

Plenty of people about though

Making the most of it

This fella helped keep me company

Enjoying his Sunday arvo
After leaving my own insurance details this week under someones window wiper it was nice to find this under my own.
.
Headed down to the local round lunchtime today. Swell was bigger and unfortunately alot messier than expected. Journeyed on round to one of the more sheltered breaks to enjoy some low tide scraps. There really wasn't much a doing but it was nice to get in the water again, especially as the sun made an apperance. Still not surfing at all well but was having fun on the fish. 3 inches of foam definately helps make it past those sections!
